Barefoot devotees participating in the Feast of Jesus Nazareno will be permitted to board LRT Line 1 and 2 trains on Thursday, January 9, as part of the annual Traslacion celebration.
Guidelines for Devotees
In an advisory, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) reminded devotees to wear comfortable clothing and carry small bags to ensure safety and comfort during the procession.
- LRT-1 Schedule:
- First trip begins at 4:30 a.m.
- Last trains leave Dr. Santos Station at 10:00 p.m. and Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:15 p.m.
Additional security officers and health professionals will be stationed at LRT-1 platforms to ensure passenger safety throughout the event.
For LRT-2, the “No Inspection, No Entry” policy remains in effect, despite barefoot devotees being allowed access.
“On the Feast of Jesus Nazareno, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) joins the thanksgiving and celebration of Nazareno 2025,” the LRTA stated.

Faster Procession Expected
Organizers anticipate a smoother procession this year, with fewer devotees climbing the andas (carriage).
“Last year, the procession lasted around 15 hours. We expect it to be faster this year due to stricter controls on the number of devotees allowed to climb the carriage,” said Alex Israga, Technical Adviser to the Minor Basilica of Jesus Nazareno.
The procession will follow its traditional route from the Quirino Grandstand to the Minor Basilica.
Safety Measures in Place
To manage the large crowds expected, church officials have released safety guidelines for the event. Devotees are encouraged to follow the instructions for an orderly and meaningful celebration.
