Benjamin Alves is all praises for Jericho Rosales, who will portray former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon in the upcoming historical film Quezon.
The Kapuso actor took to Instagram to share a photo with Jericho, both holding P20 bills, and called him “The Philippines’ Quezon.” Teasing the film, Benjamin hinted, “This is going to be a Quezon we have never seen or read about.”
Alves, who previously played the young Quezon in Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, is reprising his role. He expressed his excitement about working with Jericho, saying, “Honored to explore such a deep, historic, and colorful person with you, Kuya! I will do my best to keep up.”
Directed by Jerrold Tarrog, Quezon will start production in March. The film will chronicle Quezon’s life, focusing on his presidency and intense political rivalry with Emilio Aguinaldo, played once again by Mon Confiado.
Joining the stellar cast are Karylle Yuzon as Aurora Quezon, Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, and Cris Villanueva as the older Joven Hernando.
As the third installment in TBA Studios’ Bayaniverse—following Heneral Luna and Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral—Quezon is set to premiere later this year.
