In a recent interview, Bianca Umali revealed that her decision to convert to her boyfriend Ruru Madrid’s religion was deeply personal.
During her appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Bianca shared that she embraced the Iglesia ni Cristo faith in the third year of their relationship, referring to it as a “blessing year.”
“Actually, Ruru didn’t know. His family didn’t know either. It was a personal decision because it was my 20th or 21st birthday, and I thought, Tito, what’s one thing I can give myself that I know will never be taken away?” Bianca said.
She explained that after experiencing significant losses in her life, she sought something enduring and meaningful.
Bianca recalled a moment of clarity when she felt a spiritual calling while driving, illuminated by a ray of sunlight.
“I felt the calling that perhaps my relationship with God was the gift I needed to give myself, something that no one could ever take away,” she expressed.
She secretly enrolled in religious studies and was nearing baptism before Ruru learned of her decision.
Bianca and Ruru will celebrate their sixth anniversary next month. Ruru has previously stated that Bianca is “the one.”
Bianca is set to star in “Sang’gre,” while Ruru leads the action series “Black Rider.” The couple recently starred together in “The Write One.”
