In Monkayo, Davao de Oro, a portion of a bridge recently collapsed, primarily due to the continuous rain brought by the Easterlies. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in this incident. Authorities promptly responded by blocking entry points to the bridge to prevent any further accidents. This precautionary measure was vital for ensuring public safety.
Residents of Barangay Naboc, where the bridge is situated, have been advised to use a longer yet safer alternative route to Poblacion. This incident follows a similar occurrence last February when the nearby Naboc Bridge collapsed, also due to heavy and persistent rains.
