Chloe San Jose, girlfriend of Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, has responded to claims from his family accusing her of disrespecting his mother, Angelica Yulo. San Jose, a content creator, took to Facebook on Friday, September 6, to address the allegations, stating that she was standing up for herself and Carlos against “toxicity.”
The controversy arose after Carlos’ father, Mark Andrew Yulo, reposted messages on social media that appeared to show San Jose being disrespectful toward Angelica. In her defense, San Jose shared screenshots showing Angelica’s apparent criticism of her online, including remarks about her “revealing” photos.
Carlos’ siblings also seemed to criticize San Jose indirectly, calling out an “independent woman” who they claimed could not afford her own place and relied on free travel.
San Jose firmly defended her actions, stating, “If you’re gonna get mad at me for standing up for myself… stay mad.” She emphasized that she wasn’t trying to please anyone and remained confident in her truth.
San Jose also noted that the public drama had become “boring and over dramatic” and said this would be her final comment on the matter.
Carlos Yulo has not yet commented on the issue.
