Chelsea Manalo, fresh from her journey at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico, is set to return to the Philippines after representing the country on the global stage. While en route, the beauty queen from Bulacan took to Instagram Stories for a brief Q&A, where she shared her feelings about being named the first-ever Miss Universe Asia.
‘A Title and Platform to Treasure’
Chelsea expressed gratitude and pride for the historic recognition, saying she feels “so happy and blessed.” These emotions, she noted, mirrored those she felt when crowned Miss Universe Philippines last May.
“To represent my country and the whole Asia with such a title and platform, this is an honor I’ll forever treasure,” she said.
Chelsea also emphasized that winning goes beyond titles. “It is when you are happy and content and when you start to be an influence to so many. I’m excited for this!” she added.
Homecoming and Achievements
Chelsea is scheduled to arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. While her Miss Universe journey ended in the Top 30, she made waves by winning the National Costume Award for her striking religion-themed Hiraya costume.
At a post-pageant press conference, Chelsea was officially recognized as the first-ever Miss Universe Asia, a new honor introduced at this year’s competition.
The Crowned Miss Universe
Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, ultimately won the Miss Universe 2024 crown.
Chelsea remains a celebrated figure for her inspiring journey and groundbreaking achievement, marking a proud moment for the Philippines and Asia on the global stage.
