After being stranded in Sorsogon due to Typhoon Kristine, Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar finally reunited with his family. Sharing the ordeal on social media, Chito described a series of delays and detours that stretched what should have been a brief flight into a harrowing journey.

Following their performance at the Kasanggayahan Festival in Sorsogon on October 21, Chito and his band faced multiple attempts to fly back to Manila. Their flight made three unsuccessful landing attempts before diverting to Kalibo, Aklan, to ensure passengers’ safety. “Oks na din yun…basta safe,” Chito said, adding that the crew kept spirits high throughout the detour.

But even after reaching Manila, the challenges persisted. Due to severe flooding, their journey from the airport to their homes was delayed another four hours on SLEX. After five days away, Chito finally made it home Friday morning, gratefully posting, “Thank You, Lord, for keeping us safe and healthy, and for bringing us back home safely to our families. You Da Best.”

Chito expressed deep gratitude to those who assisted him and the band throughout their journey, including the family who hosted them in Sorsogon, the flight crew, and even a kind stranger who lent him a power bank to keep in touch with his wife, Neri Naig. He also thanked his bandmates, crew, and fans who braved the storm to attend their gig.

In his closing remarks, Chito shared, “Sobrang saya ko talaga na nasa bahay na ko kasama ng pamilya ko. Goodnight.”

Dominic Roque, also stranded in Sorsogon with his friends, is hoping to return home soon as Kristine continues to affect the region.
