Creamline Cool Smashers continued their dominance in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference with a decisive 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 win over Nxled. The victory, achieved at the Philsports Arena in Pasig, brings Creamline one step closer to the semifinals and keeps their hopes for an elimination round sweep alive. The team’s eighth consecutive win was marked by a robust attacking game, overpowering Nxled’s initial resistance​​.

Jema Galanza led the Cool Smashers with a standout 14-point performance, while Michele Gumabao and Tots Carlos contributed significantly with 12 points each. Skipper Alyssa Valdez added seven points to the tally, showcasing the team’s collective strength and depth. The Cool Smashers peppered Nxled’s defense with 46 attack points, maintaining their unbeaten record in the league​​.

Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses expressed contentment with the team’s progress towards the semis, although he acknowledged the tight competition. The players, including Galanza and Valdez, recognized the importance of their win, despite acknowledging some lapses in their game and the need for further improvement in training​​​​.

Nxled, on the other hand, faced their sixth loss in the league, with Jho Maraguinot leading their effort with 14 points. Despite the defeat, the performance of Nxled’s players, like Chiara Permentilla, Lycha Ebon, and Camille Victoria, demonstrated their competitive spirit in the league​​.
