Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa delivered a stark message during PDP-Laban’s final campaign rally at Liwasang Bonifacio, urging voters to reject corrupt politicians or risk the nation’s future.
“Vote for this entire group,” Dela Rosa said, referring to his fellow PDP-Laban senatorial candidates. He cautioned against being influenced by politicians offering money or favors and emphasized the importance of thinking about future generations when casting votes.
He added that the Senate should be free from manipulation by powerful entities, calling for an independent legislative body that can check other branches of government. Dela Rosa, a strong ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte, said his campaign was not for personal gain but for the nation’s survival.
“If voters choose those who only care about money, then it’s goodbye, Philippines,” he warned.
Fellow candidate Jayvee Hinlo criticized President Marcos for abandoning the unity once championed by the “Uniteam” coalition. Hinlo condemned the administration’s decision to abolish the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission and Duterte’s arrest and transfer to The Hague.
The PDP-Laban slate includes Dela Rosa, Bong Go, Rodante Marcoleta, and several others including detained pastor Apollo Quiboloy. Their platform includes support for Duterte and opposition to VP Sara Duterte’s impeachment.
Meanwhile, candidates like Gringo Honasan, Willie Revillame, Ariel Querubin, and Norberto Gonzales each emphasized clean governance, social justice, and long-term national reform in their closing pitches.
With just days before the 2025 national and local elections, candidates are making final appeals to voters, each positioning themselves as champions of the Filipino people’s future.
