Derek Ramsay stepped up as a supportive stepdad, comforting his step-son Elias during a recent blood test. In a heartfelt moment shared on Ellen Adarna’s Instagram, Derek went the extra mile by taking the blood test himself to ease Elias’s fear.
Elias, the son of Ellen Adarna and her former partner John Lloyd Cruz, appeared anxious and tearful before the procedure. As seen in the Instagram Reel, both the nurse and Derek, whom Elias affectionately calls “Papa D,” reassured him that the test would be quick and painless, involving just a small needle prick on his finger.
To demonstrate there was nothing to worry about, Derek volunteered to go first, showing Elias that the process wasn’t scary. When it was Elias’s turn, Derek held his hand, encouraging him by saying, “Go, Papa D and you together.” After the test, Derek gently patted Elias on the head, providing further comfort.
Ellen Adarna humorously captioned the video, “Blood tests be like… I’m taking you down with me. Na among [nadamay] ang papa D.” Derek responded with a light-hearted comment, “All for one, one for all!!!”
Derek and Ellen, who married in 2021 after a whirlwind romance, recently celebrated their third anniversary in February. Ellen continues to co-parent Elias with John Lloyd Cruz, who she describes as a supportive and present father.
