The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has ordered a moratorium on housing loan payments for members affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. The pause aims to ease financial pressures for impacted families, according to Housing Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, following President Marcos’s directive to maximize support for storm victims.
The moratorium applies to payments under the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), National Housing Authority (NHA), Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), and the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC). “This small gesture hopes to alleviate their concerns during this challenging time,” Acuzar stated.
In addition to this measure, the DHSUD is expediting its Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP) with local government units to provide affected families up to PHP 30,000 for homes that were completely destroyed, and PHP 10,000 for partially damaged homes.
