The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced it will investigate protesters who called for President Marcos Jr. to resign and urged the military to withdraw support — remarks the agency says may constitute sedition.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla emphasized that while citizens have a right to free speech, they must exercise it responsibly. He added that statements inciting the overthrow of the government have no place in a civil society.

The DILG will ensure due process in its investigation, aiming to determine accountability and uphold the law for anyone whose actions may have crossed legal boundaries.
