The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) for seven officials from the Office of the Vice President (OVP), DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano confirmed. The bulletin, signed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, was immediately forwarded to the Bureau of Immigration for implementation.
The ILBO applies to the following OVP officials: Zuleika Lopez, Atty. Lemuel Ortonio, Atty. Rosalynne Sanchez, Gina Acosta, Julieta Villadelrey, Edward Fajarda, and Sunshine Fajarda.
Clavano clarified that the ILBO does not restrict the officials’ right to travel; it serves as a monitoring mechanism to track whether they leave or enter the country. The request for the ILBO was initiated by Representative Joel Chua, chair of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, amid an investigation into the OVP’s budget usage, including confidential funds.
Clavano emphasized that the ILBO does not mandate attendance at any congressional hearings, nor does it require OVP officials to participate in inquiries. However, the House committee may request travel details of the officials as needed.
