Is Dwight Ramos open to joining the “Bayan ng Pogi” — also known as the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters?

In a lighthearted moment during a watch brand event on Saturday, Rain or Shine’s Gian Mamuyac jokingly asked former Ateneo teammate Dwight Ramos if he would consider joining the Elasto Painters in the PBA. The question comes after head coach Yeng Guiao recently quipped that good looks were now part of the team’s recruitment criteria.

Ramos laughed off the question and responded, “Maybe, you gotta ask Coach Yeng. He hasn’t talked to me yet, maybe we can work something out.”

Though Ramos gave no definitive answer, he recently re-signed with Levanga Hokkaido in Japan’s B.League and remains committed to his international duties with Gilas Pilipinas for the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

Rain or Shine has been building a reputation for signing not just skilled players, but photogenic ones as well—including Caelan Tiongson, Andrei Caracut, and Anton Asistio—earning them the humorous nickname “Bayan ng Pogi.”

Ramos’ combination of on-court talent and charm would definitely make him a fan favorite in any squad, should he decide to return to the PBA.
