An elderly woman who was among the 31 people injured in a Christmas Eve road accident on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) has passed away, according to a report on 24 Oras by Jonathan Andal.
Details of the Incident
The accident occurred in San Fernando, Pampanga, when a fully loaded mini bus lost control and tipped over, colliding with an Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV) traveling in the same lane. The elderly victim sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
The crash left 31 others injured, several of them children.
Legal Action Planned
The victim’s family has announced plans to press charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide against both the mini bus driver and the driver of the AUV.
Investigation Underway
Initial findings indicate that the mini bus lost control before striking the AUV, causing the fatal crash. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
