In a heartfelt eulogy, Elvis Gutierrez shared the touching story of how he met and fell in love with his late wife, Alexa Uichico Gutierrez. Following her passing, family members paid tribute to Alexa through their emotional speeches, with Elvis recounting the beginning of their love story.

Ruffa Gutierrez shared Elvis’ tribute on TikTok, where he narrated their first meeting at a friend’s party. “The whole night, I just annoyed her kasi ang sarap niyang asarin eh,” Elvis said, noting that Alexa was in another relationship at the time and kept ignoring him. A brief power outage at the party provided a memorable moment: “After five seconds, nung bumukas na ‘yung ilaw, nakayakap na ako sa kaniya,” Elvis recounted, drawing laughter from the audience.

A few months later, they reconnected on a beach trip, where they grew closer. Alexa gave Elvis the nickname “crispy pata,” to which he responded by calling her his “chicharon bulaklak.” This marked the beginning of their inseparable bond, even as Alexa had to move to Houston, resulting in a long-distance relationship.

Despite the challenges, including a near breakup after four years apart, Elvis decided to quit his acting job and follow Alexa to Houston. “I stayed there for a year. I won her heart back eventually,” he said. The couple married in 2015 and have two young daughters.

In January, Annabelle Rama emotionally shared the news about Alexa’s health struggles. Alexa bravely fought leukemia for six months before passing away on the evening of July 27 at the age of 38.

According to the Mayo Clinic, leukemia is a cancer of the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. It primarily affects white blood cells, causing the body to produce excessive amounts.
