Janella Salvador has postponed her much-anticipated 10th-anniversary concert, originally scheduled for April 19 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. This decision came after her son, Jude, faced a serious health scare that required immediate and intensive care. Salvador’s manager, Manny Valera, revealed that Jude was hospitalized with pneumonia and spent five days in intensive care at St. Luke’s Hospital, which deeply affected Salvador’s ability to prepare and perform.
The need to prioritize her son’s health led Salvador to miss several pre-concert activities, including band rehearsals and promotional mall shows. According to Valera, Jude’s condition stabilized after a week in the hospital, allowing him to be moved from the ICU to a regular room for further recovery. This traumatic experience understandably shifted Salvador’s focus entirely to her son’s wellbeing, necessitating the postponement of her concert.
In light of these events, Salvador and her team are looking at rescheduling the concert for September. Despite the setbacks, Salvador remains committed to her professional responsibilities. She continues to promote her current project, “Mallari,” in Singapore and is involved in the upcoming film “How to Be a Good Wife” alongside Jane de Leon. Moreover, Salvador is set to star in the cross-cultural film “Under Parallel Skies” with Thai actor Win Metawin, showcasing her continued prominence in the industry.
Salvador’s decision to delay her concert highlights the often difficult balance between personal commitments and professional duties, especially for those in the public eye. Her commitment to her family during this challenging time has resonated with fans, who have shown strong support for her prioritizing her son’s health over professional engagements.
