Sinabi ni Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo na magbibitiw na siya sa kanyang puwesto, epektibo sa Enero 3.
“I believe I did my part to help during the pandemic. The FDA is now stronger, more efficient and systems are in place. It’s time for me to move on to other things,” ayon kay Domingo.
Sinabi ng Department of Health na ang FDA Deputy Director General na si Dr. Oscar Gutierrez ay itinalaga bilang officer in charge.
Isa si Domingo sa mga taong tumutugon sa mga epekto ng pandemya ng COVID-19 dahil ang FDA ay responsable para sa pag-apruba ng emergency use authorization ng mga bakuna, bukod sa iba pang mga responsibilidad.
