A Filipina nurse working at a home care facility in Abu Dhabi tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday evening, October 6. According to reports, the 32-year-old nurse, employed by Al Raiaa Home Health Care, did not report for her scheduled duty on Sunday morning. After attempts to contact her were unsuccessful, her employer learned on Monday that she had died in an accident the previous evening.
The Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Abu Dhabi are working with the victim’s family on the case. Ronald S. Gamiao, president of the Filipino Nurses Association in the Emirates, confirmed that they are gathering information about the accident and have coordinated with relevant authorities and the victim’s husband, who is working on repatriating her remains.
The UAE chapter of the Philippine Nurses Association expressed deep sadness over the loss and extended condolences and support to the family. The organization has also been in contact with the MWO to assist the family during this difficult time.
