MARIKINA CITY – A fire broke out at a plastic warehouse in Barangay Malanday on Wednesday morning, reaching the third alarm before firefighters gained control.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported receiving the alert at 11:20 a.m., with the blaze escalating by 11:52 a.m. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the Malaya Street warehouse, which stored plastic materials.
At least 10 fire trucks and one ambulance were deployed to contain the situation.
Miriam College Suspends Classes and Work
Due to the heavy smoke from the fire, Miriam College – Loyola Heights Campus dismissed grade school and high school students at 12:00 noon.
The school also suspended work in its basic education unit starting 1:00 p.m. as a precautionary measure.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and no injuries have been reported so far.
