First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos recently conducted an inspection of ongoing renovations at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), a key venue for the upcoming ASEAN Summit in 2026.

In a social media post, the First Lady emphasized the significance of the PICC in the country’s history and its readiness to once again host global leaders. “This iconic space has witnessed many pivotal chapters in our history—and now, it’s being primed to host the world once more,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to the PICC team and the ASEAN National Organizing Committee for their commitment to preparing the venue. “Their dedication reflects not just our hospitality, but our strength, progress, and vision for the region,” she added.

The Philippines is set to host the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings in 2026. As part of preparations, the Office of the President received additional funding in the 2025 budget to support the country’s role as summit host.

The ASEAN bloc works to enhance economic growth, cultural development, and regional stability through cooperation and adherence to principles of justice, equality, and international law.
