Food vlogger Deo Balbuena, better known as Diwata, is part of the Vendors Party-list, which filed its certificate of nomination of acceptance (CONA) for the 2025 national elections. The group, which represents street vendors and wet market vendors, aims to secure a seat in the House of Representatives.
Diwata, nominated as the party’s fourth nominee, and Vendors Party-list seek to simplify business permit filing, particularly for small businesses. Additionally, the group advocates for designated spaces where street vendors can operate their businesses.
Other groups that filed their CONAs include Pamana and A-Teacher Party-list, the latter of which is aiming to return to the House. A-Teacher Party-list’s nominee, Julieta Cortuna, emphasized continuing their 2019 legislative agenda, including expanding the voucher system to primary education.
The filing of CONAs and certificates of candidacies (COCs) for the 2025 elections is ongoing until the end of the week.
