Manila, Philippines – Singer-actress Frenchie Dy revealed on social media that she has suffered her third Bell’s palsy attack, sharing her emotional journey and determination to recover.

How She Realized She Was Having an Attack

Frenchie recounted that she first noticed something was wrong when her sense of taste changed while having lunch with her husband. Moments later, as she drank water, she felt the liquid dripping down her face, prompting her to seek immediate medical attention.

Doctors confirmed that she was indeed experiencing another Bell’s palsy episode, a condition that causes temporary paralysis or weakness of the facial muscles on one side of the face.

Emotional but Determined to Fight

Despite the setback, Frenchie remains optimistic, acknowledging the love and support from her family and friends.

“Pinanghihinaan ako ng loob. Pero I know maraming nagpe-pray for me… so kaya ko ‘to. Laban lang,” she said in an emotional video. (I feel discouraged, but I know many are praying for me. I can do this. Just keep fighting.)

She also thanked the doctors and nurses who have been helping her recover.

Ongoing Treatment and Recovery

Frenchie shared updates about her treatment, including:
Medications – Vitamin B complex, steroids, and pain relievers
Therapy sessions – At-home massages and facial exercises
Singing through the challenge – She impressively performed “Go the Distance,” despite experiencing discomfort.

“Mahirap man ang hamon, dapat lumaban. Salamat sa Diyos, nakakakanta pa rin ako,” she said. (The challenge is hard, but I must fight. Thank God, I can still sing.)
