Veteran actor Gardo Versoza and broadcaster Arnold Clavio recently expressed their disapproval of political candidates running for office without concrete platforms. Clavio took to Instagram, humorously coining the term “Cacatua mangmagusamus” to refer to candidates who seek public office but lack clear plans. Versoza echoed the sentiment in the comments, noting how some individuals use various tactics to advance themselves and accumulate wealth.

The posts seemed to indirectly respond to TV host and senatorial hopeful Willie Revillame, who recently admitted that he hasn’t yet thought of any plans to address national issues, intending to figure them out after securing a win.

Clavio also posted another dig at government officials involved in corruption, coining the term “Ganidus Suwapangus Buwakawnimus” to describe those who continuously steal from the public coffers. He emphasized the need for greater transparency, especially regarding the use of intelligence and confidential funds, urging the Commission on Audit (COA) to have more power in preventing fund misuse.

These remarks come amid public scrutiny over Vice President Sara Duterte’s controversial ₱125 million confidential fund and the surprising number of celebrities and influencers filing for candidacy in the 2025 elections.
