President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. personally distributed over P80 million in financial assistance to eight Cagayan municipalities heavily impacted by Typhoon Marce. Each affected town—including Aparri, Buguey, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Teresita, Baggao, Gattaran, Gonzaga, and Santa Ana—received P10 million, which local leaders will allocate to address urgent community needs.

During his visit to Buguey, President Marcos reassured residents of continued support from government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Department of Agriculture (DA). He also noted that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Education (DepEd) would spearhead the repair of damaged infrastructure and schools.

“As long as you need us here, we will stay,” Marcos said, pledging sustained relief and support for displaced families until they can safely return to their homes.

In addition to the cash assistance, the DSWD distributed 1,800 food packs, while the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) provided 200 packs of rice and 20 boxes of sardines. The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) contributed 1,000 rice packs, each containing 10 kilograms. The Department of Agriculture also delivered P866.3 million in aid to support farmers through hybrid rice seeds, fertilizer discounts, vegetable seeds, and poultry.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported one casualty due to the storm, which affected over 261,000 people across the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
