“Our priority is to ensure that no commuter is left stranded,” an MMDA official stated during the early morning deployment at the agency’s Command Center. “We have strategically positioned our assets in ‘choke points’ and high-demand areas. While we respect the right to protest, we must maintain the mobility of our essential workforce, especially as we navigate the ‘Third Wave’ of global economic challenges.”

Commuters are advised to look for vehicles with official “Libreng Sakay” signage and to expect a heavy presence of PNP and MMDA personnel at major intersections to maintain order. The Department of Energy (DOE) is also monitoring the fuel usage of these rescue fleets, ensuring that the bigger fuel buffers recently established by oil firms are being utilized effectively for public service.
As the Amihan continues to weaken and temperatures rise, the MMDA has also reminded commuters to stay hydrated while waiting at designated pick-up points. For those who cannot find a free shuttle, the LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 remain fully operational and have increased their train frequency to accommodate the additional passenger volume from the strike.
