A tragic grenade explosion on New Year’s Eve claimed the life of a farmer and injured two others at a carnival in Matalam, Cotabato. The incident occurred just 10 minutes before midnight on December 31.
The farmer, who was merely passing by the carnival, succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital. The two other victims sustained injuries but survived the blast.
Police suspect the grenade was thrown deliberately but have been unable to identify the culprit due to poor visibility at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
