Mylah Roque, wife of ex-presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, informed Congress that she was in Singapore for a medical checkup, according to Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers. This update comes as the House of Representatives’ QuadComm panel, co-chaired by Barbers, issued an arrest order against her for repeatedly ignoring subpoenas related to an investigation into Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) crimes.
Barbers, who also heads the House dangerous drugs committee, mentioned that Mylah Roque sent a letter explaining her absence due to health reasons, though she has yet to return to the country. Despite receiving documents from her, Barbers emphasized that lawmakers insist on her in-person attendance to respond to their questions directly.
The Bureau of Immigration confirmed Mylah left the Philippines on September 3. A lookout bulletin was issued against her on September 16, directing immigration officers to alert authorities if she attempts to leave the country.
Harry Roque, who was also cited in contempt and ordered detained on September 13 for failing to provide documents justifying his wealth, remains at large alongside his wife.
