Heart Evangelista has embraced a new leadership role as the president of the Senate Spouses Foundation.
In a series of Instagram Stories, the Kapuso Global Fashion Icon shared moments from the oath-taking event. Her husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero, delivered a speech at the ceremony, stating, “Ngayon may pruweba na tayo, na may puso ang Senado.”
Heart looked elegant in a white button-down shirt paired with a denim power suit from YSL. She was accompanied by her supportive sister, Cam Ongpauco.
“I just feel honored and grateful to have your full support,” Heart expressed in her speech.
Heart plans to continue the work that the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI) has been doing since 1987, while introducing modern approaches.
“I’ll try to add a few more sustainability programs that we can help out,” she told reporters in an ambush interview.
In her Instagram Stories, Heart also paid tribute to the late Sen. Miriam Santiago, sharing old photos of them together and writing, “I missed you very much today, mama.”
Last week, Heart invited her followers to follow the Senate Spouses Foundation Instagram account as she began her tenure as the organization’s president. “So shall we begin,” she captioned.
