Katrina Halili, the renowned Kapuso actress, is enveloped in sorrow following the untimely demise of her partner, the former Vice Mayor of Wao, Lanao Del Sur, Jeremy Guiab. The grief-stricken star took to Instagram to express her profound sense of loss, sharing a poignant photo of Jeremy against the backdrop of a radiant sun.
In a heartfelt caption, Halili lamented, “Ang daya mo Love, sabi mo aalagaan mo kami ni Katie,” questioning, “Bakit iniwan mo kami?” as she grapples with the sudden vacuum left by Guiab’s departure. The emotional post quickly became a space of solidarity and support, with numerous fellow celebrities like Kris Bernal, Jackie Lou Blanco, Carla Abellana, Camille Prats, and others extending their condolences.
Quezon City Councilor Don De Leon broke the somber news on his Instagram, referring to Jeremy as “my best friend, my brother, my confidant and partner,” and revealing the cause of death as a fatal heart attack. He shared the tragic moment of Guiab’s passing and invited prayers for his eternal peace, marking the loss of a life that departed far too soon.
According to PEP, the tragic event unfolded on January 28 when Guiab suffered a heart attack at Halili’s residence in Quezon City. In a desperate bid to save him, the actress hurriedly took him to St. Luke’s Medical Center, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
Halili, a mother to her daughter Katie, whom she shares with her ex-partner, singer Kris Lawrence, had previously hinted at the joy Jeremy brought into their lives. Last July, without revealing his identity, she had spoken about the significant support he provided in raising Katie, underlining the depth of the bond they shared.
As Halili mourns this profound loss, her professional journey continues as she graces the screens with her action-packed series “Black Rider,” starring alongside Ruru Madrid.
