As the Paris Olympics approach, Vogue Philippines celebrates the pride and passion of Filipino athletes in their July issue, featuring Hidilyn Diaz and Bianca Bustamante on two different covers.

Hidilyn Diaz: Shifting Priorities

The first cover, shot by Mark Nicdao, showcases Hidilyn Diaz, the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist, wearing a dress by J. Ro Alarcio and a skirt by Dhenyze. Despite not qualifying for this year’s Olympics, the 33-year-old weightlifting champion remains dedicated to her sport.

“I’m not done with weightlifting, but right now, my priorities are shifting slightly,” Hidilyn told Vogue Philippines, highlighting her desire to start a family with her husband-coach, Julius Naranjo.

Bianca Bustamante: Racing to New Heights

The second cover features 19-year-old Filipino racing sensation Bianca Bustamante, dressed in Louis Vuitton. She was photographed by Sharif Hamza alongside the historic McLaren Senna at the McLaren Technology Center in England.

In 2023, Bianca made history by becoming the first Filipino to win an F1 Academy race in Valencia, Spain.

Celebrating Filipino Athletic Excellence

Hidilyn Diaz brought home the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medal in 2021 by winning the women’s 55-kg weightlifting event at the Tokyo Olympics. Meanwhile, Bianca Bustamante continues to blaze trails in the racing world, showcasing the diverse talents and dedication of Filipino athletes.
