Speaker Martin Romualdez emphasized that the House of Representatives will not tolerate any evasion or hypocrisy from government agencies during the ongoing deliberations on the proposed P6.352 trillion national budget for 2025. In a firm statement, Romualdez warned that all agencies would be held accountable, and due process would be strictly followed.

This comes after the House cut the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) proposed P2 billion budget by P1.29 billion following Vice President Sara Duterte’s refusal to answer questions from lawmakers. Romualdez stressed that the House will continue to ensure transparency and accountability in scrutinizing government expenditures, ensuring that funds are spent for the public’s benefit.

The proposed budget will undergo further discussions in the Senate before final approval by both chambers and the President.
