Television host Ion Perez has announced on social media that he is withdrawing from the race for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac. Expressing gratitude to his supporters, Perez shared that he wants to better prepare himself before taking on a public role.
“Sa mga kalugar ko diyan sa Concepcion, una po maraming salamat sa tiwala at suporta niyo na ibinigay sa akin. Pinapaalam ko lang po na hindi na po ako tatakbo o tutuloy bilang konsehal ng Concepcion,” Perez stated.
The It’s Showtime host explained his decision, saying, “Gusto ko po munang ihanda ang sarili ko para hindi mapahiya sa inyo at mapaglingkuran kayo ng tama.”
Perez, who filed his Certificate of Candidacy on October 1, 2024, expressed appreciation for the support he received and apologized to his constituents for the change in plans.
