Philippine actress Jennylyn Mercado has taken a firm stand against the misuse of her daughter Dylan’s name on a subscription-based Facebook page. The unauthorized page, which falsely presented itself as being linked to the one-year-old, boasted 64,000 followers and offered exclusive content for a monthly fee of PHP 55.
Mercado and her husband, actor Dennis Trillo, are managed by Aguila Entertainment, which issued a public statement clarifying that the Facebook page “DYLAN JAYDE HO” was not affiliated with the couple or their management. The statement condemned the act as a clear case of identity theft and urged the public to report the page while legal options were being explored.
In a direct appeal, Mercado addressed the operators behind the fake account, expressing her dismay and requesting them to contact their management to resolve the issue. “It’s wrong to assume the identity of my child and even get the page verified,” Mercado stated. “There’s even a subscription option, which suggests you might be profiting from this.”
The unauthorized page was deactivated a few hours after Mercado’s public response, although it remains unclear if the page operators have reached out to her team to discuss the matter.
Mercado and Trillo, who married in 2021 and welcomed Dylan in April 2022, are also parents to children from previous relationships—Mercado’s son Jazz and Trillo’s son Calix.
