Senatorial aspirant Jimmy Bondoc has expressed his support for the allocation of confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) to government offices, including the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
Speaking on Super Radyo dzBB’s “Ikaw Na Ba?” Senatorial Interviews, Bondoc emphasized the importance of CIF in addressing national security concerns but noted the need for proper regulation.
“We need CIF because we face threats. Intelligence and confidential funds are necessary,” Bondoc said.
However, he advocated for limiting and clarifying their use:
“What we have to do is to limit it and clarify its use. We shouldn’t remove it entirely.”
Legislative Priorities
If elected in the 2025 May elections, Bondoc promised to launch a legislative inquiry into the rising electricity rates in the country.
Career Background
Bondoc previously served as vice president for corporate social responsibility at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) in 2017. He was later appointed as a member of PAGCOR’s Board of Directors during the Duterte administration.
