Chicago, USA – Jimmy Butler is set to make his much-anticipated debut for the Golden State Warriors on Saturday against his former team, the Chicago Bulls, following his recent trade from the Miami Heat.

The move comes after a turbulent season in Miami, where Butler faced multiple suspensions, including one for conduct detrimental to the team. Now, he’s embracing a fresh start with the Warriors, who are looking for a boost in the Western Conference play-in race.

“I know that I have my joy back now,” Butler said. “I’m in a different situation, a different group of guys. Can’t wait to be out there and compete.”

Golden State’s Expectations

The Warriors, who have lost three of their last four games, hope that Butler can provide much-needed scoring support for Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

Head coach Steve Kerr expressed confidence in Butler’s commitment:
“Players sometimes need a fresh start. So do teams. I think we’re going to get the very best version of him. That’s why we made the deal.”

Chicago’s Trade Moves and Playoff Push

The Bulls were also active before the NBA trade deadline, sending leading scorer Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-team deal. Despite losing 10 of their last 14 games, Chicago is still in contention for the Eastern Conference play-in tournament, sitting one game ahead of Philadelphia.

🔹 Rookie Matas Buzelis has stepped up in LaVine’s absence, scoring a career-high 24 points on 10-for-10 shooting in a recent win over the Heat.

Warriors vs. Bulls: Head-to-Head

Golden State has dominated recent matchups, winning eight of the last 10 meetings against Chicago. However, the Bulls have split the last two season series and will aim for another win to keep their streak alive.

Their last meeting on January 23 saw the Warriors crush the Bulls 131-106, led by Curry’s 21 points.

Will Butler’s Warriors debut be the spark Golden State needs? Fans will find out on Saturday night.
