Former “Eat Bulaga!” host Jimmy Santos is back in the Philippines after spending time in Canada, where he experienced life recycling cans and bottles in Calgary.
In his latest vlog, Santos shared glimpses of his life now that he’s back home, including doing household chores and working out. He clarified that despite recent speculation, he never migrated to Canada permanently.
“I’m already here in the Philippines,” Jimmy said. “Many thought I had moved to Canada, but I only visited to attend my grandchild’s first communion. At the same time, I took the opportunity to vlog and try bottle recycling — it was a great experience. The system there is clean and very organized.”
On his Facebook page, Santos further emphasized, “I only visit my children and grandchild in Canada. I’m really based here in the Philippines.”
In 2023, Jimmy went viral after documenting his work recycling in Calgary, where residents are encouraged to return cans and bottles for a refund — each item holding a certain value.
He returned to the Philippines later that year and made a surprise appearance on “Eat Bulaga,” reuniting with his former co-hosts. His last regular stint on the show was in 2021 during its Christmas special.
