Justin Brownlee, known for his contributions to Gilas Pilipinas and Barangay Ginebra, has officially joined Pelita Jaya, a prominent team in the Indonesian Basketball League. The 35-year-old basketball star’s move was confirmed by Pelita Jaya through their social media platforms, signaling a new chapter in his illustrious career.

Brownlee’s transition to the Indonesian league comes with the endorsement of Tim Cone, Gilas and Ginebra’s head coach, allowing him to explore opportunities abroad during a break from his national team and Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) commitments. This strategic move aligns with the PBA’s ongoing All-Filipino Conference and the upcoming break before the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

At Pelita Jaya, Brownlee will be part of a formidable lineup, including Indonesian national player Brandon Jawato, former PBA TNT import KJ McDaniels, and ex-NBA athlete Thomas Robinson. His addition is expected to bolster the team’s performance in the league, where they currently hold a strong 7-1 win-loss record.

Brownlee’s international venture is anticipated to bring his seasoned skills and experience to the Indonesian basketball scene, enhancing the competitive edge of Pelita Jaya in the league.
