President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos marked their anniversary with a romantic dinner in Rome, Italy, on April 26 before their return to the Philippines.

The First Couple, who celebrated their wedding anniversary on April 17, took the opportunity to enjoy a private evening while in Europe. Their visit to Rome coincided with their attendance at the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican — a gesture Marcos described as showing the Philippines’ deep respect for the late pontiff.

The funeral Mass held at St. Peter’s Square gathered global leaders, dignitaries, and thousands of Catholic faithful from around the world.

During their Rome visit, First Lady Liza proudly showcased a locally crafted Marikina-made handbag.
“Strolling through the streets of Rome with my trusty Marikina bag — proudly carrying a piece of home wherever I go!” she shared.
