The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order to the owner of the truck involved in a deadly multiple-vehicle crash in Atimonan, Quezon, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) confirmed on Sunday.
The tragic accident occurred on Friday along the Maharlika Highway, where the truck reportedly lost control and collided with two other trucks. The driver of the out-of-control truck died on the spot. According to a report by Jonathan Andal on 24 Oras Weekend, the driver was found trapped in the shattered cab of the vehicle before rescuers arrived.
Five other individuals sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Authorities said the truck was headed toward Bicol, while the other vehicles were en route to Manila.
The collision caused significant traffic disruption in the area. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and establish liability.
