Four days after it closed its operations, Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) will resume its operations tomorrow, December 19, 2021.

MCIA has sustained damages in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette (International Code Name RAI).

“We are in the process of restoring regular services at the soonest possible time,” said MCIA general manager Julius Neri said in  a statement.

Typhoon Odette affected hotels and government offices including Department of Health, due to power and telecommunications outages.

Neri said there is also delay in the releasing of PCR test results.

Domestic flight cancellations also prevented passengers from leaving their hotel quarantine facilities. Above resulted in non-availability of quarantine rooms in Cebu.

“In view of the foregoing, international flights in and out of MCIA will be suspended until 0559H local time 21 December 2021,” he said.

First international flight will be allowed to land at 0600H local time 21 December 2021. Only 600 international arriving passengers per day will be allowed from December 21-25, 2021.

While starting December 26, 2021, international arrival quota will be increased to 850 passengers per day.
