Malacañang has firmly refuted claims about a circulating memorandum that allegedly calls for stronger government PR efforts and the ousting of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez. The Palace branded the document, supposedly signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, as fabricated.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro cautioned the public against believing in fake documents.
“That’s fake news. It’s not real, so don’t waste your time on it,” Castro said.
She further urged Filipinos to stay vigilant: “Let’s not be so quick to trust random documents going around. Fake news is rampant these days.”
