Malacañang welcomed the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results, which showed the Marcos administration received a “good” +40 net satisfaction rating in June.
“While we are elated by this validation of our hard work, we view it more as a challenge to do even better,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) stated, emphasizing their focus on improving key metrics and delivering on their promises to the Filipino people.
The June rating marked an improvement from the “moderate” +29 rating in March but a decline from the “excellent” +52 achieved in December 2023. The survey, conducted from June 23 to July 1, revealed that 62% of Filipinos were satisfied with the national government, 15% were neutral, and 22% were dissatisfied.
The Palace reiterated that their efforts are not aimed at gaining popularity but at providing “genuine and effective service” to improve people’s lives and secure the nation’s future.
The SWS Governance Report Card, which evaluated 15 specific performance areas, rated the Marcos administration as “very good” in three areas, “good” in five, “moderate” in three, “neutral” in two, and “poor” in two areas.
- Very good: Helping disaster victims (+64), improving children’s education (+62), helping the poor (+51)
- Good: Implementing housing programs for the poor (+47), developing science and technology (+46), creating job opportunities (+45), improving public transportation (+38), ensuring food security (+35)
- Moderate: Addressing climate change (+29), defending sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+22), reducing hunger (+18)
- Neutral: Combating crimes like robberies and physical violence (-2), regulating oil prices (-3)
- Poor: Eradicating graft and corruption (-10), fighting inflation (-16)
National Unity Party President Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte attributed the administration’s improved rating to “hard work and honest governance,” adding that it was achieved despite “unrelenting black propaganda” and personal attacks on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
