President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has extended a P150 million fund to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) to enhance cancer care for children.

Speaking at the Childhood Cancer Care Awareness Month event, Marcos acknowledged the need for greater government efforts in improving pediatric cancer treatment.

“Early cancer diagnosis and the prevention of treatment delays are vital in improving the quality of life for children with cancer. A precise diagnosis is crucial,” the President said.

The allocated P150 million from the Office of the President is aimed at upgrading medical equipment at PCMC. Marcos praised the hospital for its unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care and for its efforts in reducing treatment abandonment and increasing support for indigent patients.

He also highlighted the resilience of children fighting cancer and the lessons of courage they impart to society. “In every brave smile and small voice I’ve encountered today, I see the extraordinary courage that can inspire nations,” Marcos added.
