KUALA LUMPUR — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appeared unfazed by the recent drop in his trust ratings, saying it’s important not to draw conclusions based on a single survey.
“There are many other surveys out there. Let’s not rely on just one,” Marcos told members of the Philippine media on May 27, when asked about the Pulse Asia results.
He questioned the timing and source of the survey, smiling when told it was conducted by Pulse Asia. Marcos stressed the importance of context when interpreting survey data.
“You have to know your source. Imperfect information leads to imperfect decisions. The more accurate your information, the better your decisions will be,” he said.
According to Pulse Asia’s May 6-9 nationwide survey, Marcos’ trust rating inched up to 32% from April’s 29%, while the percentage of Filipinos who distrust him fell to 42% from 45%. Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte held a 50% trust rating, and former President Rodrigo Duterte remained the most trusted with 63%.
