President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing the Philippine Air Force (PAF) by providing top-notch equipment, training, and infrastructure.
Speaking at the PAF’s 78th anniversary celebration, Marcos said, “The government will exert all efforts to provide the Philippine Air Force with the best possible equipment, training, and facilities.” He stressed that well-supported troops are more capable of performing their duties with excellence.
Marcos highlighted recent developments within the Air Force, including the acquisition of six new aircraft and the use of flight simulation and advanced training techniques. He also cited the completion of numerous infrastructure projects and emphasized the strategic deployment of air assets.
The President praised PAF personnel for their dedication, particularly in disaster response operations. “Whenever the mission calls, the Philippine Air Force answers. Time and again, you put your life on the line for the sake of our people,” he said.
The PAF reported conducting over 1,000 flying hours for air and maritime patrols, monitoring key areas such as the West Philippine Sea and the Philippine Rise. These operations included 95 patrol flights and the tracking of nearly 12,000 foreign vessels.
To commemorate its anniversary, the PAF is holding several public activities including mall exhibits, medical and dental outreach programs in coastal areas, youth summits, and a painting competition. The event carries the theme, “Focus PAF @ 78: Advancing Air Power by Committing to Mission, Strengthening Capabilities and Championing Core Values.”
