President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his commitment to the Philippine Navy’s modernization and capability enhancement initiatives during a command conference on Monday. He emphasized the Navy’s crucial role in maintaining national security and highlighted the necessity of continuous defense improvements to address evolving security challenges.

Navy Chief, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., presented the current status and future plans of the service, stressing the significance of modernization for total archipelagic defense. He noted that these efforts are essential for the Navy to effectively secure the state and foster maritime cooperation for regional peace and stability.

“The Philippine Navy remains steadfast in its duty to defend our nation’s interests, safeguard our waters, and protect our people. While we face formidable challenges, our commitment to accomplishing the mission remains unwavering,” Adaci stated in a press release.

He further assured that the Navy will persist in its mission until the nation achieves genuine freedom and security in its waters. “As you have said, sir, ‘Filipinos do not yield,'” the vice admiral added.
