President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called on Filipinos to reflect on the true essence of sacrifice and its role in nation-building as the country marked Eid’l Adha, the Islamic Feast of Sacrifice.

In his message, Marcos emphasized that the strength of a nation is not measured by material offerings but by acts that restore dignity, promote fairness, and embody compassion—especially in moments where they’ve been lacking.

He likened the significance of Eid’l Adha to the timeless story of Prophet Ibrahim, highlighting how real devotion is shown in moments of surrender and inner conflict. “We are reminded that true sacrifice lies not in what is given up, but in what transforms us,” he said, urging Filipinos to reflect on personal reckonings and the quiet strength found in surrender.

Marcos also noted that Eid’l Adha challenges people to undertake a deeper journey—not of distance, but of spirit—toward humility, renewal, and collective good.

He concluded by expressing hope that the occasion would inspire Filipinos of all faiths to meet today’s challenges with courage and compassion, affirming that meaningful sacrifice uplifts communities and fosters national unity.
