President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has urged the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council to reexamine their current policies, citing the financial and logistical difficulties faced by many professionals in renewing their licenses.

Speaking during the 123rd Labor Day celebration, Marcos acknowledged the complaints from workers about costly and time-consuming CPD training requirements. He called for a review of whether these training sessions remain relevant and necessary.

“I’m aware of the struggles professionals face just to renew their IDs. The cost and hassle of meeting CPD training requirements have become a burden for many,” Marcos said.

He emphasized that while continuous learning is vital, the process should be balanced and practical.

The CPD Act of 2016 mandates that professionals complete accredited training to renew their PRC-issued licenses, aiming to maintain professional competence across industries.
