President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has committed to ensuring the completion of key infrastructure projects in Davao before his term ends in 2028, emphasizing their role in fostering economic growth and development in Mindanao.
Speaking in Panabo during the distribution of land titles and certificates of condonation with release of mortgage (COCROM), Marcos highlighted the transformative impact these projects would have on transportation, business, tourism, and agriculture in the region.
Infrastructure Projects in Focus:
- Tagum City Bypass Road and Island Garden City of Samal Circumferential Road – Targeted completion by 2026.
- Carmen-Tagum City Coastal Road – Another significant project aimed at improving regional connectivity.
“These projects will help alleviate traffic, enhance transportation efficiency, and promote the development of business, tourism, and agriculture,” Marcos said in Filipino.
Support for Agriculture and Tourism
Marcos reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting agricultural development, stating, “We will continue to implement projects that will enhance farming and strengthen the agricultural sector.”
He also pledged full support for initiatives promoting tourism and the arts in the Davao region, acknowledging their importance in driving regional progress.
Distribution of Land Titles
During the event, Marcos distributed COCROMs to over 11,000 beneficiaries across Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, and Davao Oriental. Additionally, 672 electronic titles were awarded to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
The President emphasized that the timely completion of these projects would improve the quality of life for residents, facilitate the faster movement of goods, and boost the local tourism industry.
“My full support is with all projects and programs aimed at advancing tourism, regional progress, and recognizing your skills and talents,” Marcos said.
